Track Alignment Lead Engineer | HS2 Duddeston

For my second project with HS2, I led the track realignment and various civil installations, including LOC Bases, RRAPs, signal gantries, formations, jointed track, and CWR S&C installations. In this role, I managed a team of three apprentice engineers, mentoring them on-site to enhance their practical skills and ensure their safety as they worked toward completing their degrees.

I was also responsible for Progressive Assurance, creating Work Package Plans (WPPs), and producing task briefs. I take pride in my ability to seamlessly handle both the technical aspects on-site and the engineering duties in the office.

Equipment Used:

  • GPS Base Stations with R12i Rovers
  • GNSS Rovers & RTK Drones for Surveys and Mapping
  • SPS930 Total Stations
  • 2D Lasers

HS2 Aylesbury Track Alignment Lead Engineer

I came to a new team to lead a track re-alignment across 2 bridges built by HS2. This was a staged project, interfacing with multiple companies across multi disciplines.

This caused a few hurdles, but we overcame these issues, put in some extremely hard work and it paid off. Being highly praised and respected by the network rail project managers.

This was the first job I have lead and run myself, i had access to an extremely small team of 3 engineers including myself. 2 Full time gangs consisting of 10 PTS operatives, 2 of which were promoted to traine supervisors through their work here.

Here are some more images from some jobs from over the years...
